Equipment Breakdown coverage is a broader interpretation of the traditional “Boiler and Machinery” insurance. It is a comprehensive coverage for direct damage to covered equipment. Examples include: air conditioning and refrigeration equipment, boilers and pressure vessels (air tanks, hot water tanks, cookers, and furnaces), communication systems, and electrical equipment (compressors, fans, system motors).
Our coverage includes the expense inspections and certification of boilers and air compressors as required by the Department of Labor and Industry. We include property damage, business income and extra expense, and hazardous substances coverages. Coverage for newly acquired properties, demolition, increased construction costs, service interruptions, spoilage damage, and electronic data or media damage are included as well.
